Senior National Conference leader from North Kashmir died during the party meet due to the severe heart attack, resulting in his on spot death.

According to the KNS, Bashir Ahmad Kar, 50,  hailing from Kalam Abad was attending the NC party meet at Kralgund when he complained about the severe chest pain. The participants of the meet were about to arrange ambulance for him when they came to know that he is dead.

Bashir Ahmad Kar has earlier contested as the NC’s candidate from his home town in legislative assembly polls.  His father Abdul Ahad Kar, a former MLA was killed by militants in 1999. Bashir who resigned from the government job in rural development, contested elections in 2002 and 2008, but lost both the times.

Several NC leaders  have condoled Bashir’s demise.
