Ramzan made the remarks while meeting several public and individual delegations at the party headquarters, Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar. The delegations highlighted civic, developmental, and administrative issues affecting their areas, and the NC leader assured them that he would take these concerns to the relevant ministers for prompt redressal.

He stressed that the restoration of full statehood is not merely a political demand but a constitutional and democratic right of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “The people have expressed their will through the ballot. It is imperative that New Delhi honours this mandate and restores statehood without further delay,” Ramzan said.

Highlighting the work of the Omar Abdullah-led elected government, he said the administration is striving to bridge development gaps, strengthen governance, and rebuild public trust in institutions. He added that the government has also enhanced accessibility and accountability, ensuring that corridors of power are more open to ordinary citizens.

Ramzan further asserted that lasting peace, meaningful development, and institutional credibility can only be achieved when democratic rights are fully restored through an elected, full-fledged state government. He assured the delegations that the National Conference will continue to advocate for the people’s legitimate demand for statehood across all appropriate forums.
