SRINAGAR: The National Conference on Tuesday observed the 44th death anniversary of its founder, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, with party leaders and workers paying tributes at his grave in Naseem Bagh, Srinagar.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and NC president Dr Farooq Abdullah visited the grave and offered floral tributes. They also performed Fateha and offered prayers.
Several NC leaders, MLAs, senior party functionaries, workers and supporters were present at Naseem Bagh to pay homage to the former leader.
Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, popularly known as Sher-e-Kashmir, founded the National Conference and served as the first elected Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. He died on September 8, 1982.
