Expressing disappointment, Peoples Conference (PC) leader from Wachi constituency advocate Ehsan Ul Haq accused government of neglecting the area. Advocate Haq Tuesday toured various areas of Constituency and interacted with local fruit-growers and orchardists to review the damage caused due to last month’s hailstorms.

As per the statement, Ehsan  said that the hailstorms had caused extensive damage to fruit crop in the areas of Ratnipora, Chakoora, Dangam, Wangam, Partabpora, Halapora, Chodigam, Hajipora, Mantribugh, Kanhama, Lundura, Cholen, Reenipora, Khasipora and other adjoining villages. Interacting with various delegations from these villages, Advocate Haq accused local MLA and MLC of ignoring the area.

While terming the insensitivity of the local MLA as unfortunate, Advocate Haq said, “Neither the ruling party, nor the main opposition party to which the local MLA belongs, had made any efforts to redress the grievances of the people of Wachi. The hard-working fruit-growers and orchardists form an important part of the state’s economy and the government has a responsibility to extend relief to them to recuperate from widespread damage due to natural causes.”

Advocate Haq has demanded immediate relief to be disbursed in favor of the fruit-growers from the affected areas.
