SRINAGAR: National Conference (NC) leaders on Friday staged a protest outside the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, expressing solidarity with Iran amid the escalating Middle East crisis.
Led by Tanvir Sadiq, the protest saw party members raise concerns over the ongoing conflict involving Iran and the U.S.-Israel alliance. Sadiq said the party and the JK government stand united in their position and have formally raised the issue in the Assembly through a call attention and adjournment motion.
He stated that no country has the right to attack another and termed the killing of a religious leader as condemnable, urging the country’s top leadership to take a clear stand on the issue.
The protest underscored the party’s position on international developments and called for broader condemnation of violence against political and religious figures.
The Middle East conflict continues to intensify, with hostilities centred around Iran and disruptions near the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil route.
