The disruption began when National Conference (NC) legislators raised slogans against the US-Israel conflict with Iran and displayed posters of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei inside the House.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members objected to the display of posters and responded with counter-slogans, leading to a heated exchange between the two sides.

During the uproar, a verbal clash broke out between Congress MLA Irfan Hafeez Lone and BJP legislator Yudhvir Sethi, which nearly escalated into a physical confrontation before other members intervened.

Amid the disorder, the Speaker adjourned the House for 30 minutes.

The developments come against the backdrop of escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly around Iran and the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz.
