NC sabotaged talks, led to Majid Dar’s killing

SRINAGAR:Ruling coalition minister Sajad Gani Lone on Saturday accused NC of sabotaging the talks process initiated by Delhi. He said this sabotage led to the killing of Hizb leader Abdul Majid Dar.

“The talks were supposed to be secret,” Sajad Lone told the state assembly. “But when talks were about to start, the NC government sent the media and it spoiled the entire show.”

Lone, a minister in J&K government said that this led to the exposure of the people who were negotiating and eventually to the killing of Abdul Majid Dar and Farooq Mirchal, a resident of Handwara.

Lone had actually come to the support of his other colleague from Peoples Conference Bashir Ahmad Dar, who was speaking in the obituary references. When NC objected to some of the remarks of Dar, Lone got up in his support.

Most of the militant leaders who had announced unilateral ceasefire and agreed to talk to the Home Minister officials were later killed.
