National Conference leaders and workers headed by party General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar carried out a march from party headquarters Nawa-e-Subah to Radio Kashmir road.

The protesting workers and leaders including former Speaker Mubarak Gul, Chowdary Muhammad Ramzan and Muhammad Akbar Lone raised massive slogans against Jammu Kashmir Police. “Police ki gundagardi, nahi chaley gi, nahi chaley gi”, Zulum karna bandh kar, Qatel-e-Aam bandh karo, Thod Phod bandh karo, “Mehbooba tere Khoon raj main khoon hi khoon hai” were some of the slogans they raised during their march.

Sagar said that killings must stop and a dialogue process should be started to resolve long pending Kashmir issue.

The NC leaders said that government should wake up from its deep slumber, as the government didn’t worry about the killings in Kashmir. It should not waste further time in initiating a comprehensive and open-ended dialogue so that the Kashmir issue will be sorted out soon.

“Everyday civilians, militants, policemen and paramilitary personnel are being killed in the valley. Even after support from opposition parties, the PDP-BJP government has failed to control the situation,” they added.
