Srinagar

The yearly Darbar, of Jammu and Kashmir government, opened in Srinagar for next six months on Monday.

Civil Secretariat and other offices, affiliated to it had closed in Jammu. Raj Bhawan also started functioning in the summer capital from today.

Secretariat opens in Srinagar, Mehbooba receives Guard of honour

Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti inspected the traditional guard of honour inside the Civil Secretariat premises to mark the opening of the offices.

However, Internet services in Kashmir remained suspended on the third successive day after it was snapped following the Chattabal gunfight in Srinagar that left three militants and a civilian dead.

Meanwhile, extra police and paramilitary troopers have been deployed in and around the civil secretariat.
