SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) on Wednesday intensified preparations for its proposed protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, with party president Dr Farooq Abdullah chairing a high-level meeting of senior leaders to finalise the strategy and expand outreach to opposition parties.
The meeting, held at Dr Abdullah’s residence in Gupkar, reviewed the organisational arrangements for the proposed demonstration and deliberated on mobilising wider political support.
Senior leaders resolved to formally invite all constituent parties of the INDIA Bloc, along with political parties in Jammu and Kashmir, to participate in the protest. The party also decided to reach out to political outfits that are neither part of the INDIA Bloc nor aligned with the NDA, in an effort to build a broader opposition platform for the demonstration.
As part of the outreach initiative, formal invitation letters will be sent to political parties across Jammu and Kashmir. Dr. Farooq Abdullah will personally write to the heads of the respective parties, inviting them to join the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar.
The National Conference is expected to announce further details of the protest programme in the coming days.
