SRINAGAR: Tanvir Sadiq, Chief Spokesperson of the National Conference and MLA Zadibal on Thursday said that the government will bring a resolution on Article 370 in the upcoming Assembly Session.
Tanvir Sadiq termed the Centre’s 2019 abrogation of Article 370 as “unconstitutional” and emphasised the NC government’s determination to challenge this move. He expressed hope that opposition parties, including the BJP, will support the resolution.
“The Omar Abdullah-led government also plans to revive the Darbar Move practice, benefiting Jammu traders and Dogras,” Tanvir Sadiq said.
“This will be achieved, albeit gradually. The NC government is committed to fulfilling its 12 guarantees and 26 promises outlined in the election manifesto,” he said adding that BJP has no justification in opposing the move about the restoration of Darbar Move practice.
He further added that whatever the NC has promised to the people of Jammu and Kashmir will be delivered.
Tanvir Sadiq criticised the BJP for dividing Jammu and Kashmir and fueling communal tensions for electoral gains. “In contrast, the NC prioritises unity and inclusive representation.”
He said Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is currently in Delhi, engaging with ministers to address the peoples’ pressing issues. He said Omar Abdullah means business this time and people will witness a sea of change. [KNT]
