Despite confessing of having scores of  vacancies of superintendent of police in the department, police authorities have not been reportedly able to finalize the posting of nearly one hundred DYSPs even after two months of having been promoted as SP.

Sources in the police department told KNS that 93 deputy superintendent of police were promoted to the next rank in July after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who is also heading the home department  approved their promotion vide  Govt. order Home- 270 of 2013 dtd. 04-07-2013, however two months have passed; their posting has still not been done.

“There are hundreds of SP vacancies in the department still they don’t bother for our posting.” A senior officer awaiting adjustment told KNS wishing not to be named. He said that 74 more Deputy Superintendent of Police had already completed their training and were still waiting their adjustment. Another senior officer told KNS that there were 13 Armed Police battalions who were headless and nothing was done to adjust these promotes there.

“13 battalions of armed police are headless and 10 posts of SP are lying vacant in Security wings also no one is willing to adjust the promotes, so that these vacancies are filled up at least.” The officer told KNS.
