NEET Aspirant from Jammu Kashmir Dies By Suicide in Kota

   

SRINAGAR: A NEET-UG aspirant from Jammu and Kashmir died by suicide at a hostel in Kota, Rajasthan, a week after arriving in the city for coaching, police said on Sunday.

Quoting Excelsior, police officer Ramesh Kaviya said the student, identified as Zeeshan, had moved to Kota after doing online coaching from home last year. She had been staying at a hostel in Mahavir Nagar Third for the past seven days.

Kaviya said that on Sunday around 4 pm, she was on a call with a boy, also from Jammu and Kashmir, when she took the extreme step. The boy then informed another girl, who rushed to the hostel and knocked on the door, but there was no response.

Some youths working nearby were called to help. They broke open the door and found the girl unresponsive. She was taken to the new hospital of the medical college, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

The hostel room has been sealed and will be opened in the presence of family members. The body has been kept in the hospital mortuary. Police said the reason for the incident is yet to be ascertained and investigation is ongoing, Excelsior reported.
