SRINAGAR: The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has issued emergency helpline numbers for Indian nationals affected by the flash floods in Nepal, as rescue and relief operations continue in coordination with Nepalese authorities.
Indian nationals requiring assistance or information can contact the Embassy at 977 985 131 680 or 977 970 910 7500, the mission said.
The Embassy said it remained in contact with relevant Nepal government authorities to facilitate the early rescue and relief of affected Indian nationals, adding that efforts were being strengthened in coordination with the Nepalese government.
Official sources said India was preparing to send relief material to Nepal as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu Government has established a help desk for tourists from the state who are in Nepal. It has advised affected tourists and their families to contact the help desk or the State Department for Overseas Affairs.
The Tamil Nadu Government said assistance could also be sought through Tamil Nadu House in New Delhi.

The emergency arrangements come as Nepal continues rescue and relief operations following severe flash floods that have affected several areas.
