As part of its Cyber Security Awareness Month campaign, the bank has urged users to create passwords of at least 12 characters, combining letters, numbers and special characters to reduce the risk of unauthorised access.

The bank cautioned customers against using easily guessable passwords, including names, dates of birth and common combinations such as “123456”. It also advised users to avoid dictionary words and update their passwords periodically.

The bank stressed that passwords should not be reused across multiple accounts, as a compromised password could expose other accounts using the same credentials.

It further advised customers never to share their passwords with anyone, including colleagues, or disclose them through email or chat.

The bank urged users to remain vigilant about cyber threats and follow basic password-security practices as part of its awareness campaign.

For assistance, customers can contact J&K Bank’s helpline at 1800 890 2122.
