SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday carried out raids at two locations in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, with teams accompanied by CRPF and local police personnel, officials said.
The searches were conducted at the SICOP complex in Bijbehara and at Kreeri village in the Dooru area, they said, adding that the operations were part of an ongoing investigation being pursued by the federal anti-terror agency.
While officials remained tight-lipped about the nature of the case, sources indicated that the raids were linked to a probe into activities with possible terror angles. The presence of central paramilitary forces underscored the sensitivity of the operation.
Further details were awaited at the time of filing this report. (KNS)
