The order was passed by Special Judge Prem Sagar on an application moved by the NIA under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) in connection with RC No. 02/2025/NIA/JMU, in which a supplementary chargesheet has already been filed.

According to the court order, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, a resident of Sargodha in Pakistan’s Punjab province, has been named as Accused No. 8 in the case. The NIA informed the court that Saeed, the founder of the banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba and a designated terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), is operating from Pakistan and is deliberately evading arrest.

After hearing the NIA’s submissions, the court observed that the arrest and custodial interrogation of the accused were necessary for a fair, complete and effective investigation. It accordingly issued the non-bailable warrant and directed that it be forwarded to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), NIA, Jammu, for execution in accordance with the law.

The application was subsequently disposed of after the issuance of the warrant.
