SRINAGAR: A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), led by an Inspector General, visited the site of the terror attack at Baisaran in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, on Wednesday.
The team included senior NIA officers, among them an Inspector General, Deputy Inspector General, and Senior Superintendent, along with other officials.
The team is expected to assist the local police in the investigation into Tuesday’s attack, which left 26 people dead.
The attack took place on Tuesday afternoon, when a group of attackers opened fire on tourists who were gathered around eateries, taking pony rides, or picnicking with their families at the meadow popularly known as ‘Mini Switzerland’ due to its landscape. (KNO)
