Police on Friday claimed to have arrested nine drug peddlers during naka in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha.

“During naka in Budden Police party of Police Station Dangiwacha led by SHO Dangiwacha Mudasir Gillani apprehended 09 persons  identified as Ishrat Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Kabir Mir a resident of Adipora, Shabir Ahmad son of Farooq Ahmad Shalla of Shalimar Colony, Azad Ahmad Mir, Basharat Ahmad Mir son of Nazir Ahmad Mir of Hib Dangerpora, Manzoor Ahmad Sofi son of Bashir Ahmad Sofi of Neharpora Sopore, Mashooq Ahmad Bhat son of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat of Hib Dangerpora, Irfan Ahmad Shalla son of Ghulam Mohiudin Shalla of  Sadiq Colony Sopore, Ishfaq Ahmad Shalla son of Mohammad Abdullah Shalla of Sadiq Colony Sopore and Fayaz Ahmad Parray  son of Jan Mohammad Parray of Chinkipora Sopore, who were traveling in two vehicles bearing registration no.’s DL8CS 0941 and Maruti JK05A 0182, during search 30 bottles of MAXICOFF and TX Cqrox 07 bottles were recovered from their possession, accused were arrested and vehicles also stands seized,” said police spokesman in a statement.

“In this connection Case FIR No. 10/19 U/S 8/22 29 NDPS has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha & investigation taken up,” said the spokesman.

“People of the area hailed the Sopore police and urged to continue the drive to eradicate the nuisance of drug addiction from the society,” a police spokesman said.
