President of India, Pranab Mukherjee today ordered extension of the present term of Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Narinder Nath Vohra.
“The President of India has been pleased to appoint Narinder Nath Vohra to be the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir for a fresh term on the expiry of his present term,” reads a statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhawan today at 1545 hrs IST .
Vohra, a former bureaucrat and a security expert, was appointed Governor of Jammu and Kashmir state in June 2008.
