SRINAGAR: The Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO), Dr Syed Mohammad Abbas on Wednesday informed that no case of the bird flu has been reported in the Kulgam district so far and people need not to panic in this regard.

He said this during a meeting convened by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat to review measures and arrangements put in place to tackle the situation if bird flu is reported in the district.

The CAHO said that 9 Rapid Response teams(RRTs) have been constituted to tackle the situation if arising due to bird flu. He further said that the district and block level monitoring and surveillance teams have been already constituted with its control room at district headquarter.

Meanwhile, the DC directed the concerned to ensure proper surveillance in the local farmhouses for reporting any unusual sickness and mortality.
