The Huriyat (M) rebels who earlier bid adieu to Mirwaiz led faction have nullified the reports of joining the amalgam of senior separatist Syed Ali Geelani.

“Never on earth will this be possible that we would join the faction of Syed Ali Geelani. We have distanced ourselves from Huriyat (M) on the basis of constitution and we will strive for a grand alliance so that peoples’ aspirations are addressed well on time and without any further delay,” Zaffar Akbar Bhat, former Huriyat (M) general council member told KNS.

Zafar who is also the chief of the Salvation Movement here, said that the grand alliance between the pro-freedom camp is the need of the hour as scattered voices would no longer be heard or attended.

He also rejected and ridiculed the reports that he along with others who have deserted Huriyat (M) and are joining the faction led by Geelani. “The reports that are being carried in some sections of press are baseless and incorrect. No one is joining the Huriyat led by Geelani sahib. We are striving for the unity in the pro-freedom camp and a grand alliance in this regard is needed. Constitution of 1993 of Huriyat Conference must be respected and restored to its original glory. Azadi should be the stand along with the clearance over the government elections in JK. Tripartite talks must be held and not the bilateral,” Zaffar demanded.

He informed that he along with other leaders who have deserted the Huriyat (M) held meetings with Shabir Ahmad Shah and Geelani but however, emphasis was over the grand alliance between the pro-freedom parties of Jammu and Kashmir.
