SRINAGAR: Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag has directed students not to record, circulate or upload photographs, videos, reels or other content involving people on the campus without their prior consent.
The direction was issued through a notice dated September 19 after the college received complaints about students recording videos and reels and sharing or uploading such content in the public domain without the consent of those being filmed.
The college said such acts amounted to an infringement of privacy and could adversely affect the dignity and reputation of individuals.
Students have been advised to exercise responsibility while using mobile phones on the college premises and to adhere to the principles of privacy, dignity and responsible use of digital media.
The notice said students wishing to record any campus activity must obtain prior permission from the Office of the Principal or the Dean Students’ Welfare.
The direction covers content involving students, faculty, staff and visitors to the college.
