Hurriyat Conference (M) Thursday urged its executive member and Anjuman Shar e Shian president Aga Syed Hassan to desist from issuing statements against JKLF Chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik. The Conglomerate has said that statements against each other were not in any one’s interest.

Sources in the Hurriyat (M) told a local news agency, KNS that during the executive committee meeting on Thursday, Chariman , Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed displeasure over recent controversial statements and said that such practice should be stopped. Sources also added that the executive council members were of the opinion that there shouldn’t be any more efforts to persuade DFP Chairman Shabir Ahmad shah to stay in the amalgam.

“If Shah wants to leave the amalgam, let him do that,” sources quoted majority of the executive members saying in the meeting.

Mirwaiz however said that no decision was taken in this regard. “We have made our stand clear regarding Shah sahab earlier also,” Mirwaiz told KNS.

“We have urged Aga Sahab to keep restraint and desist from issuing statements against any pro-freedom leader,” added Mirwaiz.

Mirwaiz had convened an emergency meeting of conglomerate’s executive council body members. Expressing complete solidarity with Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi, the participants said that the leader always kept the interest of freedom movement on the higher pedestal. They said that as “a religious, spiritual and political leader, Agha Sahab has remained actively
involved in the processes which have immensely benefitted the freedom
movement.”
Meanwhile Agha Syed has accepted the request of Hurriyat executive council that he would remain calm and patient in the larger collective interest of freedom movement.
