Srinagar: A nocturnal gunfight broke out between militants and counterinsurgent forces in Pandushan area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.
Reports said that a joint team Army’s 34RR, SOG and CRPF launched cordon and search operation in Pandushan area.
A senior Police officer told news agency GNS that contact has been established with hiding militants after forces on credible inputs zeroed towards the suspected spot.
As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
While this report was being filed exchange of firing was going on.
