Taking a dig at the Mirwaiz Umar Farooq led All Parties Hurriyat Conference (M), senior separatist leader Agha Syed Hassan Thursday said that this organization is “existing only on papers” while on ground its contribution towards Kashmiri Nation is “zero”.

“One day this organization (APHC-M) decides to open up offices at district level while on the next day, its decision makers force workers to shut down those offices. These Hurriyat leaders are insensitive towards the problems of the people who sacrificed everything for the Kashmir Freedom Struggle. Time and again, I requested the Chairman and Executive Body of APHC-M to change the strategy, but no heed was paid towards my requests,” Agha Syed Hassan told CNS and added that Hurriyat leaders have lost their credibility among people.

“I have not quit APHC-M but I was on protest and was urging upon the party to change its ‘redundant’ strategy. Now, APHC-M Spokesperson has himself said that I have left the party and I will do it. This party never implements any decision on the ground. It has become redundant. All its members have been going away from this party as they have realized that it is a one man party,” he said.

When asked why he adhered to the principles of the party from such a long time and why he didn’t quit earlier, Agha Syed Hassan said that he always tried his best to persuade Executive Members to change the strategy.

“It was my motive to give a new shape and dimension to the party that could have brought us closer to the people. But I failed every time. People doubt our integrity now. There is a huge gap between the party leaders of APHC-M and common people. Whatever decisions we used to take in Executive Meetings, those decisions remained only on papers. We never tried to connect with the people. It hurts me that APHC failed to deliver goods on ground,” he said.

To a question, Agha Syed Hassan said that Hurriyat leaders are not serious and they don’t care about people.

“Instead of sharing different platforms, it would have been better if all the Hurriyat leaders sit together and chalk out a joint strategy. Joint strategy will always prove effective. Kashmiri people will continue to suffer till we not close our separate offices and show a united face,” Hassan further said.
