Normal life resumed in Kashmir on Thursday after being paralyzed for four straight days due to curfew-like restrictions and shutdown calls given by Joint Resistance Leadership following the killing of 13 militants and five civilians in separate districts of Kashmir. Clashes between the youth and government forces were also reported across Kashmir in which more than100 youth were injured.
However, a spontaneous shutdown is being observed in districts of Shopian, Kulgam, Ganderbl’s Kangan, Baramulla’s Palhalan and Pulwama’s Tral town. While all the colleges and senior secondary schools remained open except few districts in Valley.
All the shops, commercial establishments, government and private reopened today in the summer capital.
The public and private transport were also back on the roads and there were no restrictions on civilian movement.
All the educational institutions were opened across the Kashmir Valley after remaining shut for three consecutive days. Institutions were closed on late Sunday for a day after the reports about the killing of militants in Islamabad and Shopian districts of South Kashmir came in.
