Life returned to normalcy in Kashmir after four days as the curfew was lifted today from all parts of the city.

Authorities decided to lift curfew from old city on Saturday evening as there was a significant improvement in the situation.

While as curfew was imposed in entire Srinagar district from Wednesday midnight in the wake of killing of a youth in CRPF firing in Zoonimar area of the city. From the rest of the valley it was lifted from Friday evening but it continued in some areas of old city falling under the jurisdiction of seven police stations.

Meanwhile, normal life resumed in Kashmir valley after four days of curfew and shutdowns. Shops and business establishments remained open while public transport plied normally on all routes.

Mutahida Majlis Mashawarat (MMM), which is spearheading the agitation for return of mortal remains of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru to his family, is expected to release the agitation programme for next week today.
