SRINAGAR: Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have attached property valued at over Rs 69 lakh and secured an arrest warrant against another accused in connection with a 2008 militancy-related case, police said on Sunday.
The action was taken following an order of the Special NIA Court in Sopore in a case registered at Chandoosa police station under various provisions, including the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Enemy Agents Ordinance, a police spokesperson said.
The attached property comprises 12 kanal, one marla and 73 square feet of land belonging to accused Parvaiz Ahmad Famda of Kawhar Bala in Chandoosa. The property has been assessed at Rs 69,82,550, with a valuation certificate also obtained, the spokesperson said.
In the same case, the court issued an arrest warrant against another accused, Abdul Rashid Bhat of Rajpora, Chandoosa.
The police said the measures form part of ongoing legal action against individuals allegedly involved in unlawful and anti-national activities.
Further investigation into the case is underway, the spokesperson added.
