India and Pakistan armies Wednesday exchanged heavy shelling along the line of control (LoC) in Gurez area of Bandipora district.
Reports said the intensity of shelling was massive with dozens of mortar shells landing in Dawar area of the Gurez town. “People have taken shelter at safer places.”
The shelling, according to the reports, started at around 11:45 am and some shells even landed near the Kishan Ganga project’s dam and crusher sites.
“The workers at the project have taken shelter in the project’s tunnels.” Cross border shelling was going on when the reports last came in.
