Nowhatta killing: CM Mehbooba’s remarks over the incident unacceptable, Rasheed’s AIP

 Srinagar

Seeking a time bound impartial probe into death of Mohammad Ayoob Pandith, a police officer allegedly killed by a mob in Nowhatta area, Awami Itihad Party has accused Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of crossing her domain by using provoking remarks.

In a statement issued today party spokesman Inam-u-Nabi said, “The circumstances which lead to the death of police officer are itself controversial and suspicious, as how it is possible that an officer of the rank of Deputy Superintendent could roam free without any security guards, in one of the most volatile areas during the dark night.”

Police has to either admit conspiracy or negligence in the tragic incident.

Kashmiris are tired with condolences and condemnations and it is New Delhi which is directly or indirectly facilitating every killing, he said.

The spokesman said that Mehbooba Mufti must explain what did she mean by saying that anything can happen if cops run out of patience and added that Mehbooba Mufti’s remarks are as worst as those of Bipin Rawat, who had labelled every Kashmiri as OGW of militants.

The spokesperson also condemned those trying to drag Mirwaiz Omer Farooq into the controversy and added that how is he responsible for something while he was in the mosque and if police force couldn’t save their officer what has he has to do with the tragic incident.
