Former Chief Minister and NC working president, Omar Abdullah, on Friday condemned the killing of DySP at Jamia Masjid.

Omar reacted on twitter terming the incident as “tragedy” and “a travesty.”

“His death is a tragedy & the manner of his death a travesty. May the people who lynched DySP Pandith burn in hell for their sins.”

The police officer was beaten to death at Jamia Masjid during Shab-e-Qadar, after people witnessed him picturing the local youth who were raising pro-freedom slogans around the mosque.

The officer, when confronted, opened indiscriminate fire injuring three people.
