Srinagar

Internet services in Srinagar and Budgam districts of central Kashmir were suspended on Saturday by the authorities following the killing of a downtown youth by a ‘paramilitary forces vehicle’ on Friday.

An official citing the reasons of law and order said that the internet has been suspended as a ‘precautionary measure’ to avoid any untoward incident.

Earlier on Friday, after the congregation prayers, youth were protesting against the desecration of graves and ransacking of the property by the military. The fast-moving CRPF vehicle rammed into the crowd and crushed the three youth down, resulting in the death of Qaiser Amin, a resident of Fateh kadal. The other two are battling for the life in the hospital.

Also, the internet speed in entire south Kashmir has been reduced so that people may not be able to upload any provocative content.
