Employees of National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) of Kashmir on Monday held a protest demonstration at press colony in Srinagar and demanded the release of their pending wages.

Beating the severe cold, scores of the protesting employees from various areas of the valley assembled at press colony and raised slogans in favour of their demands.

While talking to media persons the protesting employees said that they are without the wages from last three years, “we have time and again approached the authorities but unfortunately, our pleas went into the deaf years,” said one of the protesting employees.

The protest demonstration was led by Arshid Ahmad Tali, followed by a number of labours and suppliers from block Khorsherabad and Singpora Pattan, of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
