The overflowing Haji Peer Nallah in North Kashmir’s Uri has washed away NS Bridge on Srinagar-Muzaffabad road cutting off 20 villages from the entire valley.

The situation created by the incessant rainfall and flooded water bodies in the area has also cut off 25 link road to Uri.

In Boniyar area, 4 houses and 4 shops were washed away by overflowing water body in the area. Besides, Paranpila bridge at River Jhelum bank was also devoured by the overflowing water body.

Meanwhile, KameshwarPuri, SDPO Uri, told Kashmir Life that 33 truck drivers out of 35 vehicles stranded near Red Bridge since Wednesday evening has been rescued.

“Besides police has rescued 100 people from Bela Boniyar and 200 people from Namla,” Kameshwar said, adding district administration is closely monitoring the situation.
