United State’s President Barack Obama’s New Delhi visit have impacted the talks for government formation between the Bhartya Janta Party (BJP) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), well informed sources said.

Obama is scheduled to participate as the chief guest in the coming 26 January function at New Delhi

The whole security grid and the political leadership is busy in scheduling Obama stay in New Delhi.

BJP and PDP are busy in creating a “common minimum programme” for the next state government.

“The talks between the two parties were going on and headway was expected in the coming days but Obama visit has affected the talks,” sources said.

They added that the talks have lost their pace and are expected to reach a conclusion once Obama leaves the country.

“Any development in the government formation is now expected after January 26,” they added.

PDP with 28 seats and BJP with 25 seats are expected to form an alliance in Jammu and Kashmir. The state elections were concluded on December 23 last year.
