Jammu and Kashmir Police along with regular army Monday detected an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by suspected militants in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, police sources said.

“A joint party of army and police detected a three-kg IED by roadside at Mazhama in Magam area, 21 kms from Srinagar, early Monday,” the police said. They said that the IED was kept in a pressure cooker.

They further said that a bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot and the IED was destroyed in the open fields without causing any damage.
