Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) has called for ‘Kashmir Bandh’ on 12 August against proposed abrogation of Article 35A and alleged atrocities against people.
Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement called for the shutdown.
Article 35 A confers special rights and privileges on permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
The issue erupted due to a petition filed by a non-governmental organisation seeking abrogation of the constitutional provision.
