Teachers, students allege harassment by army in Pahalgam

Teachers of a school in Yanner village of Pahalgam, in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district, have alleged that Army on Monday barged into the school, forced and thrashed teachers and students.

They alleged that soldiers manhandled them.

A teacher wishing anonymity said that the army men barged into the school after which they harassed and manhandled the staff and students there.

There were some graffiti and slogans on the school walls painted by the protestors during the last year’s protests.

Police said that complaint has been received from teachers. “We have taken the cognizance of the complaint and we will act accordingly,” a police official said.
