A 70 years old mentally challenged, Hameeda Begum wife of Abdul Ahad Shah resident of Baba Wayil, Gutlibagh, Ganderbal jumped into the power canal at Wayil Wuddar near R.D 20000. A police statement said on Thursday.
The body was fished out from the Power Canal later at Gutlibagh.
Meanwhile, a 17 years old girl (name with held) resident of Harveth, Handwara consumed some poisonous substance at her home. She was shifted to District Hospital, Handwara for treatment, where she expired.
Moreover, a lady was found hanged in her home in Kokernag area of Islamabad district in mysterious conditions.
28 years old lady Mst Jabeena wife of Mohammad Ismail Khan resident of Gujjar Basti, Kokernag was found hanging by a rope at her residence. Police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC in this regard.
Police said that a mentally challenged person ended his life by hanging himself in Pulwama.
54 years old mentally challenged Mishri Kalas son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Sangerwani, Pulwama committed suicide by hanging himself at his home. The body was shifted to Public Health Center, Rajpora. After completion of all legal formalities the body was handed over to his relatives.
