SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday introduced a bill in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly seeking to amend the law governing salaries and allowances of members of the Legislature.
Omar, who also holds the Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs portfolio, introduced the Jammu and Kashmir Salaries and Allowances of Members of the State Legislature (Amendment) Bill, 2026, during the ongoing Autumn Session.
The bill, designated as L.A. Bill No. 14 of 2026, seeks to amend the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature Act, 1960, and deal with matters connected or incidental to it.
The proposed legislation has already been published in an extraordinary issue of the Official Gazette.
