SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah travelled on the Vande Bharat Express from Nowgam to Katra on Thursday, accompanied by his advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, officials said.

This comes nine days after his father, party president Farooq Abdullah, undertook a similar journey on the semi-high-speed train.
The Vande Bharat Express, inaugurated on June 7 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, operates six days a week between the Kashmir Valley and Katra via Banihal. The service has seen high demand since its launch.
Earlier, at the official launch event, Omar Abdullah had described the train service as a long-awaited development, noting that it fulfilled long-standing plans left unrealised during British rule.
