Former chief minister and working president National Conference Omar Abdullah on Thursday criticized Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti amid reports emanating that Kathua minor rape and murder case will be handed over to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Omar Abdullah said if the case is handed over to CBI, “it will be another installment in the price Mehbooba is paying to remain chief minister”.

“The case is being handled by the J&K police. If @MehboobaMufti agrees to hand the case over to the CBI it will be another installment in the price she’s paying to remain CM,” Omar tweeted.

Earlier people had taken out a protest rally threatening agitation in case Special Police Officer accused of rape and murder of a minor girl Asifa in Kuthua was not released from custody.

The protest was Led by BJP leader and leaders of Hindu Ekta Manch, the protesters took out a rally from Ghagwal to Hiranagar in Kathua against the arrest of SPO Deepak in rape and brutal murder case.

The case is being investigated by Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir which led to the arrest of SPO Deepak alias Deepu.
