In a post on X the Chief Minister said he had been monitoring the situation since early morning and was in constant touch with the local MLAs to assess the ground situation and coordinate the response.

Abdullah said the immediate priority of the administration was to safeguard human lives as the situation continued to evolve. He directed the district administration and other concerned agencies to ensure timely rescue and relief measures in the affected areas.

The Chief Minister assured that the government would provide all possible assistance to families affected by the flash floods and heavy rains, particularly those who have suffered damage to their homes and property.

“The government will do everything possible to aid and assist affected people who have suffered property loss due to the rains and flash floods,” he said.

Heavy overnight rainfall caused flash floods in parts of Rajouri, inundating several residential areas and prompting the evacuation of hundreds of residents to safer locations. Rescue teams and civil administration officials remain on the ground to monitor the situation and assist those affected.
