Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Thursday afternoon paid ‘surprise’ visit to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar and inspected various units. He inspected the newly installed medical gadgets and the upgraded facilities created in the hospital in different disciplines.

According to police spokesman Omar interacted with the patients and enquired of the status of the treatment being provided to them. He also received appraisal of the medicare facilities being provided to the patients by the hospital management from the attendants while visiting various wards in the hospital.

The Chief Minister visited casualty, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, CT Scan, emergency wing, bio-chemistry lab, medical and surgical ICU, Cardiology lab, pathology, micro-biology, physiology, anatomy labs etc. He also visited library in college building and other departments which have recently been upgraded and equipped with modern medical gadgets.

The Chief Minister was given brief about the functioning of the hospital and infrastructure development works under execution in the complex at present.

Omar directed the hospital management to be fully responsive to the medical needs of the patients and extending compassion to them while giving treatment.
