SRINAGAR: As part of the ongoing Hafta-e-Shahadat commemorations marking the 35th assassination anniversary of Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq (RA), a blood donation camp was organised on Monday at Ganj Baksh Park, Nowhatta, by the Mirwaiz Foundation. The event was held in collaboration with the Amandeep and Ujala Group of Hospitals as part of the martyrdom anniversary observances.

In a post on the social media platform X, Mirwaiz Manzil informed about the blood donation camp. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the public, especially the youth, including women and students from various educational institutions. Citizens from different walks of life volunteered to donate blood, demonstrating a strong sense of community service and social responsibility.
According to organisers, approximately 150 pints of blood were collected during the drive, making it a significant contribution to the region’s public health and emergency care capacity.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also participated in the camp and donated blood, reinforcing the event’s humanitarian spirit.
The initiative aimed to honour the legacy of Shaheed-e-Millat by promoting values of compassion, selflessness and service to humanity. The Mirwaiz Foundation expressed appreciation to all volunteers and reaffirmed its commitment to continuing such socially beneficial activities.
Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq was assassinated on May 21, 1990.
