SRINAGAR: The Indian Society of Medical and Paediatric Oncology (ISMPO) has conferred a Lifetime Achievement Award on Kashmir’s prominent oncologist, Dr Sheikh Aijaz Aziz. He received the award during the ISMPO’s ICC 2023 in Mumbai early this month.
His award came in recognition of his services and substantial contributions in managing cancer patients during his long career. After retiring as head of the department from SKIMS, Dr Aijaz did not hang his boots but continued to work and help the patients suffering from life-threatening diseases to survive.
Dr Aijaz received the award, Legends of Medical Oncology: Lifetime Achievement Award.
Last year, Dr Aijaz penned a book on his experiences in dealing with patients suffering from cancer, a life-threatening disease.
