A one and half year old baby was suffocated to death and his parents were seriously injured when the shed they were sleeping in was gutted in fire.
The tragic incident happened in Aadoo village of district Shopian near Keegam on the Pulwama Shopian highway last night.
SP Shopian Mumtaz Ahmad told Kashmir Life that the shed of Mohammad Shafi Bhat son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat resident of Aadoo, Keegam gutted and their baby was apparently suffocated to death. He said, “The preliminary reports suggest that the shed had got fire by a kangri in the late night. The synthetic flooring of the shed produced gas which resulted in the death of Abrar, son of Shafi. Shafi and his wife, Naza were also injured in the incident and they have been shifted to Srinagar, for specialized treatment.”
