One person was killed in a clash over minor dispute in Sokha Sarai area of Shopian, police said on Wednesday.
Fazuludin Khantana son of Badrudin Khatana resident of Thana Mandi Hasplote at present Sokha Sarai was seriously injured when Mohammad Aslam Chachi son of Mohammad Shafi resident of Rajouri hit him with an axe. He received serious head injuries and died on spot.
However Shopian police has registered a case FIR no. 24/2013 under section 302 RPC, in this regard and body of the deceased was brought to District Hospital, Shopian for post mortem. The accused fled away from the spot and is still at large. Police has launched a manhunt for his arrest.
