One person was killed, while another was injured in an accident in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday late evening.
An official said that accident took place at Kanispora highway area of the district when a speeding sumo bearing registration number JK05C 0614 hit auto bearing registration number JK01U 1261 resulting in on spot death of one person while another sustained injuries.
Following the accident injured was rushed to a local hospital, where from he was shifted to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, while injured identified as Bilal Ahmad Hajam son of Abdul Majeed Hajam both residents of Delina area of Baramulla.
Later, witnesses said injured was rushed to the district hospital Baramulla for treatment.
Divisional officer Police post-Delina Mohammad Ashraf said both the vehicles were seized and the driver has been arrested while the medico-legal formalities are being completed.
